Stained glass dedicated at Kish hospital's chapel

Recently, the stained glass panel, which was originally in the chapel of the former Kish Hospital building, has found new life in the chapel at the new building.
On transferring the panel to the new hospital, it was accidently broken. When the damage was evaluated, it was decided that enough of the heart of the piece was still intact and it would be well worth attempting to repair it. Maggie Hertel, a Kish Hospital volunteer, was commissioned to restore the piece. Maggie spent many hours repairing the panel and when she was replacing the glass, only the color of the rays from the circle were changed to better fit the new hospital color scheme.
Maggie said, “This is a hospital and that is what a hospital does, repairs what is broken. As often happens in real life, there are a few unfortunate scars left from the accident. So now, the dove rises again in renewed splendor to hang in the chapel of the new Kishwaukee Community Hospital as a comfort to those seeking faith, hope and peace.”
