Our Emergency Department staff and facility have met special training and equipment requirements by the Illinois Department of Public Health and have been designated as an Emergency Department approved for Pediatrics (EDAP), a designation awarded by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Kishwaukee Community Hospital offers a full range of services, including Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Therapy. Kish Hospital’s pediatric rooms are uniquely designed for the child’s eye. We offer a playroom for patients and visitors to enjoy, which promotes a vital, safe place for the child away from any procedures.
Our pediatric nurses are aware of the needs of the family and encourage them to take breaks as they need them for their own wellbeing. The specially trained staff adapts interactions and care to the individual child’s developmental level. They acknowledge the expertise of the family and collaborate with them to provide care for the child.
